I am pretty sure this is what bohemian dreams are made of! Stunning combination of colourful embroidery, soft flowing chiffon and guipure lace trimmings. Katie married hubby Julio by the North Sea Earlier last year and she looked INCREDIBLE!

The Design

From her first consultation it was clear that Katie knew exactly what she wanted, she just wasn’t quite sure what that was....yet. It was definitely an "I will know it when I see it!" scenario. Taking inspiration and researching everything from traditional folk and Hungarian dress to Eli Saab Collections, we experimented a lot during the design and mock up stages.

The process of working through a design with a bride is always great fun and with so many unique ideas to work with, the possibilities were endless. This gown was truly one of a kind!

Katie is of Hungarian descent and she was really keen to reflect that in the design. Her mum had gifted her a vintage waistcoat that had been passed down her family for generations. Made from a stunning floral embroidery and metallic lace trim, we both agreed that we should try and incorporate it into the design.

And so with the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack playing (yes you can even choose your music at NutMeg), the experimenting began….I think I will let the pictures do the talking. :)

Final Fitting

We recut and styled her mums traditional waistcoat, using every scrap of the embroidery and metallic trim to create this modern twist on the traditional styles!

The Big Day

Katie styled her gown with a single tier silk veil, beautiful flower crown and matching colourful bouquet - it was PERFECTION!

Congratulations again Katie and Julio, thank you so much for sharing the images from your special day!
